A $30 million United Health Services facility being constructed on the Vestal Parkway is expected to be open in less than a year.

The 68,000-square-foot Comprehensive Orthopedic Center is rising across from the Binghamton University campus.

The property had been the site of a car dealership for many years. It's just east of another UHS medical office building that opened a few years ago.

A UHS spokeswoman said construction on the new building is on schedule.

The facility will house specialized medical programs which now are scattered at various sites around Broome County. Those services will be moved to the new building next year.

UHS expects more than 125 people will work at the orthopedic center. It's expected to handle about 125,000 patient visits annually.
