A Vestal man is accused of trying to outrun authorities who tried to pull him over for speeding on McKinley Avenue.

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies chased 26 year old Jonathon Vanhousen down several side streets at 12:24 a.m. September 2, onto Watson Boulevard, then through several streets in the Village of Johnson City and Binghamton before his vehicle went the wrong way on the Vestal Parkway. Deputies say Vanhousen went a short distance on the parkway before pulling into an entrance road at University Plaza.

Vanhousen is charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, driving without a license, reckless driving, speeding, running a stop sign, running a red light and improper passing.

He was sent to the Broome County Jail to await his next court date.
