Voters in the Vestal Fire District will decide whether to borrow money to acquire a heavy rescue firefighting vehicle.

A special election on the plan is to be held on April 9. Voting will take place at the Vestal Town Hall from noon to 9 p.m.

The proposal calls for the issuance of up to $800,000 in bonds to cover the cost of buying the truck.

Vestal fire department officials expect the vehicle will have a useful life of about twenty years.
