Vehicular Manslaughter in Fatal Crash Charged

An Afton man is charged with felony vehicular manslaughter after his Jeep collided with a motorcycle on Route 235 at Route 7 in Colesville killing the motorcyclist on September 5.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say 28 year old Adam Alexander is also charged with drunk driving in the crash that resulted in fatal injuries to 36 year old Jason Smith of Binghamton.

Officials accuse Alexander of failing to stop at the intersection, hitting Smith, who died later at Wilson Hospital.

Alexander was sent to the Broome County Jail on $3,000 bail.
