Johnson City Police are warning residents to be cautious of people coming to their door, claiming to be municipal or utility workers.

A resident reports two men went to their home and claimed to be utility workers but had not made an appointment and did not produce identification.

You should never let anyone into your home without verifying with the alleged employer that they work for a utility company or municipality. Ask for identification and take time to look at it closely.

Johnson City utility workers drive marked Village vehicles and in almost all incidents, residents will be contacted before someone shows up to do some work.

Anyone who feels threatened or is suspicious of the worker should call police.
