Authorities are providing more information about a collision involving a motorcycle and a dump truck that left a man seriously injured in Cortland County.

Sheriff’s officials say 62-year-old Dennis Rider of Batavia was critically injured after he tried to pass the dump truck in a no passing zone on State Route 90 (Sweeney Road) in the Town of Homer at 12:54pm on September 21st.

Rider was airlifted to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment.

The Cortland man who was driving the International Harvester Dump Truck was not hurt.  The truck is owned by New Hope Farms in Homer.
