The Broome County United Way is looking for a new Executive Director less than a year and a half after Robin Alpaugh took the position.

The agency’s board has accepted Alpaugh’s resignation and thanked him for his dedication to services provided by the organization.

Not much information is being made available about the resignation other than that Alpaugh is pursuing other opportunities.

The United Way has launched an immediate search for a replacement while appointing LoriAnne Welch the Interim Executive Director. Welch has been serving as the Director of Resource Development.

Before heading the United Way, Alpaugh had been the alumni director at SUNY Broome Community College, a member of the Office for Economic Development with the Southern Tier Economic Development Council.

Under his directorship, the United Way not only met but surpassed its fund-raising goal last year for the first time is several years.
