The town board Wednesday night decided to move forward on a review of legal issues involved in a potential effort to remove Sotak from office.

The vote came two weeks after a meeting where concerns about Sotak's treatment of some town employees were discussed. At that session, the supervisor delayed action on resolutions related to the matter.

An investigation had been conducted following allegations that Sotak had verbally harassed workers.

The town board now has moved to retain the law firm of Coughlin and Gerhart to research issues that would be involved if an effort to remove the supervisor were to proceed.

Sotak now is required to have a board member or someone designated by the board present when she meets with town department heads.

Sotak made no public comment regarding the board's actions that could affect her future as supervisor.
