UE High School Senior Natalia Anderson is the recipient of the 2013 President's Volunteer Service Award.The award recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their community and country.

Anderson, who is 18 years old, volunteers with the Endwell Fire Department recently completing her training to be certified to fight fires inside buildings. Anderson also spent her own money to make sandwiches for victims of the September, 2011 flood and volunteers with her church and Highland Park for a number of children's activity programs.

Anderson received a certificate and a letter from President Barack Obama thanking her for her service to the community.
