Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Voters in the Union-Endicott School District December 8 will decide the fate of $14.2 million worth of proposed work at several facilities.

District superintendent Suzanne McLeod said projects are planned at all schools except for the Jennie F. Snapp Middle School, where a major renovation project was recently completed. Some work also would be done at the school district office and at the bus garage.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, McLeod said school security improvements are planned. Secure entry vestibules will be added to schools that don't have them.

McLeod said the work would not raise the school district tax levy. The proposition would authorize the issuance of $10.7 million in serial bonds and would allow the use of $3.5 million from the district's capital reserve.

A second ballot proposition would authorize the creation of a capital reserve fund of up to $10 million for a decade.

Union-Endicott polling places will be open on December 8 from noon to 9 p.m.
