Tom Baleno ll is the new head football coach of the Union-Endicott Tigers.  The move was approved at last night's U-E Board of Education meeting.  Baleno ll takes over after Shane Hurd left the program to become the Assistant Head Coach-Quaterbacks Coach at Cornell University.

Baleno ll began coaching high school football in 1997.  He currently is an art teacher in the U-E school district.  He has been the defensive coordinator for the Tigers since 2006.

He is a former standout defensive back for the Tigers playing for one of New York State's all-time  winningest coaches, Fran Angeline and was a member of the school's 1989 New York State Championship Team.

Following his high school career he played football at Buffalo State where he was a defensive back on their ECAC Championship Team and competed in the NCAA Division III playoffs from 1992-95.  He continued his playing career with the BC Jets semi-professional team for four seasons and was a member of their 1997 Empire State Champions.
