Unemployment for the Binghamton Labor Market, which includes Tioga County, is down .4% but is still above the numbers for New York State.

The Department of Labor says the local area posted a 5.4% jobless rate while the state’s rate for March was at 4.3%, down .1%.

Private sector jobs in the state increased by eight million from last year.
