Arrests have been made following the stabbing of a 32-year-old Binghamton woman.

Authorities say the attack occurred near 42 Clinton Street around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say 24-year-old Linette Pica of Binghamton has been charged with second-degree assault. Pica allegedly stabbed the woman during a fight.

Detectives say 26-year-old Joannie Gonzalez-Espinoza of Binghamton also was charged with second-degree assault. She's accused of aiding Pica.

The suspects were sent to Broome County Jail after their arraignment in Binghamton City Court.

The woman who was stabbed was treated for a wound to the abdomen at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

The suspects were found a short time after the assault on Phelps Street, three blocks from the scene of the attack.

Police say those involved in the dispute were acquainted with each other. They did not say what sparked the fight.
