Two Teens Are Accused of Arson in Chenango County

Two teens are being charged with arson and other counts. 

Chenango County Sheriff’s officials were called to a BOCES facility January 14 with a report of a building fire. 

Two students, a 15 year old Sidney girl and a 17 year old Norwich boy, are believed to have started a fire in a bathroom by lighting a towel dispenser on fire, causing minor damage. 

Both teens were charged with arson, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.

The girl was released to her parents and ordered to appear in court at a later date while the boy was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $1,000 bail.
