Two Owego residents are in the Tioga County Jail after being arrested for a robbery last night in the Village.  Police report that two male subjects approached a 70 year-old woman near an alley in the Court Street parking lot at about 9:30.  After a brief struggle the males stole the victim's purse and fled on foot.

Both suspects were located shortly after the incident by deputies from the Tioga County Sheriff's Office and Officers from the Owego Police Department. Arrested were:  22 year-old Dustin M Steigler and 20 year-old Dillon R Steigler, both of Owego.  They were charged with:  Robbery in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony; Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Criminal possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, both Class E Felonies.  Dustin Steigler was also charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor after reportedly destroying the victim's cell phone to disable its GPS tracking feature.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Nichols and remanded to the Tioga County Jail.  Bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.  The victim was treated at the scene by the Owego Emergency Squad.
