Two Hurt, One Charged With DWI in Cortland County Crash

A Cortland man and his passenger are recovering from injuries after their pickup truck smashed, head-on, into a utility pole on Marathon McGraw Road in the Town of Freetown at around 4:30 p-m December 8.

Sheriff’s officials say the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, 29 year old Nicholas Brown and passenger, 47 year old Earl Huff of Cortland were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say Brown is charged with driving while intoxicated, crossing hazard markings and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.
