Two Die in Chenango County Motorcycle Crash

Chenango County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a motorcycle crash that has claimed two lives.

Officials say 38 year old Steven Carpenter of Guilford was traveling east on County Road 10A in the Town of Preston at 4:22 p.m. Sunday, July 4 when he apparently lost control and slid into a guide rail.

Both Carpenter and his passenger, 30 year old Katelynn Coville of Guilford were pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s officials say the crash and investigation closed a portion of the road for four-and-a-half hours.
