New York State Police and the Cortland County Drug Task Force say they found two people allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine in the county.

18 year old Richard Stevens of Cortland is charged with unlawful manufacturing methamphetamine and 24 year old Natalie Castor of Homer is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities say they searched a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer they had stopped on Fisher Avenue in Cortlandville and found items used for making methamphetamine, including decongestant packaging, cold medicine, utility blades, isopropyl alcohol, gallon zip-top plastic bags and a soda bottle. They also said they found a glass container with about a gram of meth inside.

Stevens was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $2,000 bail while Castor was ordered to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court at a later date.
