Two Arrests Under Leandra’s Law

York State Police they’ve arrested two people in the region in the past few days for allegedly driving drunk with children in the vehicle.

29 year old Christina Lynch of Whitney Point was arrested July 4^th following a crash on Cold Brook Road in the Town of Homer.  Troopers say they measured her blood alcohol level at twice the legal limit. A 2 year old and a 9 year old child were in the vehicle.

She’s charged with DWI under Leandra’s Law, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.  Lynch was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $2,500 bail.

July 6, Troopers say 39 year old Edward Jones of Syracuse had eight children in his vehicle when they say the found he was driving while intoxicated on Interstate 81 in Cortlandville.

Authorities say Jones was charged with DWI under Leandra’s Law and eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
