Two Arrested in Newark Valley for Meth. Manufacture

Tioga County Sheriff’s officials say a five month investigation into suspected drug activity on Elm Street in Newark Valley has resulted in the arrest of two people.

Officials say 27 year old Gina Garcia of Endicott and 62 year old James Ridgway of Newark Valley are charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

In an unconnected investigation, Ridgway was also charged with felony burglary and grand larceny in connection with a break-in at the former Ladder Factory in Newark Valley.

Garcia was released on her own recognizance while Ridgway was sent to the Tioga County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Sheriff’s officials say they had received numerous reports from citizens of possible drug activity at the home on Elm Street before they executed a search warrant at the site September 30.
