Endicott police have filed charges against a man and a woman following a shooting incident in a residential section of the village.

Police received a report that three shots were fired in the area of 307 West Edwards Street around 7:55 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say two residents of the home - 40-year-old Edward Reed and 50-year-old Mary Chukoloski - were arrested after a search warrant was executed.

Investigators say both have been charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Reed also faces two felony weapon possession counts.

Detectives say they found two handguns in the house. The search also turned up more than 100 grams of methamphetamine and over eight ounces of marijuana. Police also seized several thousand dollars in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Reed and Chukoloski were arraigned in Endicott village court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.

Police sealed off a section of West Edwards Street after the shooting was reported. One block was closed for several hours while the residence was searched and evidence was being collected.
