Mother Nature looks to be taking another icy swipe at the region with snow and ice predicted for the week. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for 5 p.m. February 26th through 10 a.m. February 27th.

Up to 5 inches of snow could fall on the region and a thin coating of ice, less than a quarter of an inch, have been predicted, causing the potential for hazardous driving conditions.

In addition, motorists are expected to be dealing with windy conditions with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.

NOAA says a winter weather advisory means periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
