While some presidential candidates like Hillary Clinton (D) and John Kasich (R) have made appearances in the Syracuse area over the past few days and Bernie Sanders plans to be at a town hall meeting in Binghamton and a rally in Buffalo Monday, April 11, Republican front-runner Donald Trump is announcing a Southern Tier Campaign Leader but no "upstate" appearance plans.

Trump’s camp says the Binghamton-area Leader is 23rd district Congressman Tom Reed, whose district includes parts of Tioga County, the Western Southern Tier as well as some of Central New York and the Finger Lakes region. Reed is a former Mayor of the City of Corning.

Trump’s campaign appearances leading up to the April 19 New York Primary have been largely focused downstate.
