Homes are being sought for 180 dogs and cats after Angel's Gate animal shelter is being closed.  The move follows the filing of a lawsuit by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

The suit alleges Angel's Gate and owner, Susan Marino fail to file required financial reports as a not-for-profit that accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations over several years.

In December Marino had been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly failing to provide treatment and basic shelter and sustenance for the animals, a charge Marino denies.

At one time the shelter in Delhi had been praised by Oprah Winfrey.
