A trial date has been set for the case of a Florida man accused of intentionally running down and killing New York State Trooper Christopher Skinner on Interstate 81 between Hinman’s Corners and Castle Creek May 29 of 2014.

62 year old Almond Upton has pleaded not guilty to 11 counts including first degree murder, which could carry a life sentence.

He is scheduled stand trial, starting with jury selection, July 5 in Broome County Court.

Trooper Skinner was conducting a routine traffic stop along side of the road when the 42 year old was run over by a pickup truck driven by Upton.

Shortly after his arrest, Upton told reporters he had suffered a ‘time warp’ at the time of the collision.

Upton was reportedly on his way to Connecticut to visit his mother.
