The Tri-Cities Opera is wrapping up the 2012-2013 season with two operas for the price of one.

TCO director of marketing, Judy Berry, speaking on the local public affairs show, Southern Tier Close Up, says performances of Mascagni's Cavallerria Rusticana and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci will take place at the Forum Theater in Binghamton April 26 at 8:00 p.m. & 28 at 3:00 p.m.

If you don't think you're familiar with the music of these short operas, listen  to the program April 20th at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF and you'll hear Judy sing a little bit of the famous aria from Pagiacci before unexpectedly launching into "Nooo more Rice Krispies. We are out of Rice Krispies!" which, of course, is the same melody.

Judy also talks about several events coming up in the off-season including a golf tournament featuring classic cars and a vintage clothing fashion show, Singing With the Stars, that will pair 'civilians' with professional opera singers to sing duets and the Opera-Go-Round program in local schools.
