For the first time in three decades, Tri Cities Opera will perform the musically and physically challenging Guiseppe Verdi opera, il Trovatore February 8th and 10th at the Forum Theater in Binghamton.Speaking on Southern Tier Close Up airing February 2nd at 12:10 p.m, TCO marketing coordinator Judy Berry told host, Kathy Whyte that the ornate production is a musical challenge for the singers, but also involves strenuous physical action involving swords and fight scenes.

Perhaps the most unusual aspect of the upcoming production is that the famous Anvil Chorus scene will feature actual local bodybuilders!

TCO also has plans for numerous other events through the spring including Tasting Opera II in April, free movies and refreshments in days leading up to performances and something called Flash Mopera that could spring up just about anywhere at any time.
