Train Strikes Man In West Endicott

Police say a Chemung County man was seriously hurt when he was hit by a train in West Endicott.

Authorities say 21-year-old Travis Cliburn of Horseheads was walking along the railroad tracks when he was struck by the train.

State police say the incident was reported around 11:15 Friday night.

Investigators say the westbound Norfolk-Southern train was headed to Buffalo.

Cliburn was hit by the train behind 635 Dickson Street.

The man was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City and later transferred to a Syracuse hospital.

Police on Sunday said Cliburn was listed in critical condition.
