Traffic May Be Slowed By Endwell Bridge Project
Drivers may encounter some delays as work gets underway on a bridge replacement job in Endwell.
Crews this week are expected to install temporary concrete barriers in preparation for the work on Route 17C.
The work now is scheduled to start on Friday. It initially was to begin Wednesday but it was delayed because of the recent rain.
The 55-foot-long span carries East Main Street over Patterson Creek. The bridge was constructed in 1932.
Economy Paving of Cortland will be performing the work on the replacement project.
There will be an 11-foot width restriction for vehicles traveling through the construction zone. A short detour around the area will be established for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by this fall. The second phase of the work is planned for next year.
