Seneca Gaming was set up by the Seneca Nation twelve years ago.

The corporation operates casinos in Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Salamanca. The company says it has about 4,000 employees.

In a statement released this morning, Traditions partner Bill Walsh said he found Seneca Gaming's casinos to be "truly impressive."

Traditions at the Glen partners say they hope to build a $150 million project on their property off Watson Boulevard between Johnson City and Endwell.

The Traditions bid is one of three in what the state has designated the Southern Tier region in its casino licensing process.

New York's gaming commission is expected to announce winners in the casino competition this fall.
