A bit of a scare for the owners of one of the Southern Tier locations in the running to be granted a Casino License by new York State appears to be over.

The owners of Traditions at the Glen in the Town of Union found out the Hotel Trade Council informed the Gaming Facilities Location Board that the Watson Boulevard site should be considered ineligible since it claimed talks had broken down over securing a Labor Peace Agreement with local trade unions.

Traditions Project Manager, John Hussar says they were surprised to hear that the state had been told the negotiations had broken off and the developers believed they were still in talks.

Owner Bill Walsh says the misunderstanding has been cleared up and the development and Hotel Trade Council have signed the required Labor Peace Agreement.

The state Gaming Board has also been informed of the agreement.

The panel is expected to make a recommendation on what proposal should get the gaming license in the next few days.

Also in the running are Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols and Lago Resort and Casino planned for Tyre in Seneca County.
