A Binghamton man is being held as a suspect in a home invasion robbery and a taxi cab robbery minutes apart on February 15.

City Police responded to a call from a 28 year old woman who said she was awakened at 7:53 a.m. by a black man standing in the bedroom of her Rutherford Street apartment who tied her to a radiator and stole money.

Police say 25 year old Daquan Cassidy is accused of then taking a Courtesy Cab to Cary Street where he allegedly robbed the driver.

Police say Patrol Officers followed tracks in the snow from the scene of the cab robbery to an apartment building on Chenango Street.

Binghamton Police and New York State Police surrounded the apartment building for almost three hours before Cassidy was taken into custody.

He’s charged with felony robbery and was sent to the Broome County Jail.
