Town of Union Watershed Drained

A reservoir in Western Broome County is dry as work is done on the watershed.

Broome County officials say the Patterson Brixius Grey Watershed Site Two on Taft Avenue in the Town of Union has been temporarily drained so crews can replace the pond drain gate and gate frame.

The actual gate replacement work begins April 27.

Officials say the work should take two or three days and, once done, the watershed will refill itself naturally.
