No injuries are reported after a fire broke out in apartments over a business in the Town of Maine January 21.

Fire officials say the blaze over Kelli’s Too Deli on Route 26 at Lewis street was reported at around 6:20 p.m. Damage was confined to the residential portion of the building and the deli was expected to be open January 22.

Officials are investigating the cause but say the fire apparently began in one of four apartments over the deli.  The unit where the blaze began was occupied but the neighboring apartment was empty.  Those two apartments were damaged but the other two units were said to be okay.

Firefighters from several departments responded and were faced with the challenge of keeping themselves warm and water lines clear while battling the blaze.
