The National Weather Service is confirming a tornado touched down just south of Towanda in Bradford County, Pennsylvania July 25.  The authorities say the storm packed 100 mile an hour winds and caused damage but no injuries from between Monroeton and Towanda.

What is being called a “microburst” also dumped large hail in the region, damaging cars, trees and some buildings.

In Broome County, there were widespread reports of tree limbs down but no major damage.
