Tompkins County Substitute Teacher Charged with Child Porn

A long-time Tompkins County substitute teacher is under indictment on child pornography charges.

Authorities say 67-year-old Robert Snyder of Etna is accused of taking pictures of naked children while traveling overseas as well as buying and viewing child pornography.

Snyder had been a substitute teacher in Dryden, South Seneca, Newfield, Ithaca and Lansing school districts for over ten years.

The Dryden School District sent letters to parents informing them of the situation.

District officials say authorities told them Snyder was not charged with any counts involving physical contact with children.
