An Ithaca-area man faces charges after he and a three-year-old child were hurt when an all-terrain vehicle rolled over several times.

Authorities say 35-year-old Lindsey Bushey of Newfield was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He also faces counts of unsafe speed, reckless driving and operating an ATV on a highway.

According to state police, Bushey was driving the ATV at a high rate of speed October 28 on April Drive in Newfield when he lost control of the vehicle.

Investigators say neither Bushey nor the young child were wearing safety helmets when the crash happened.

Bushey was treated for several fractures at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The child sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Bushey was ordered to appear in Newfield town court on November 11.
