Tioga Sheriff Investigates Morning Robbery

The Tioga County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate a reported strong armed robbery in the Village of Owego.  According to Sheriff's reports a male subject entered John Barleycorn located on Front Street at approximately 10 AM.  The subject demanded money from a worker who was in the building.  The suspect then fled the building on foot.

Police describe the suspect as 5'9" with a large build, dressed in dark colored trousers, dark jacket over a dark colored hooded sweat shirt and a camouflage hunting mask.

The worker was not injured.  No weapon was displayed and there was an undisclosed amount of cash taken.  Sheriff's Investigators are asking the public for assistance.  Anyone with any information about the incident is requested to call the Tioga County Sheriff's Office at 607-687-1010.
