Tioga Road Wrecked By Rain Closed for Repairs

Officials in Tioga County say motorists will be detoured around a storm-damaged roadway for at least a week.

A section of Ellis Creek Road in the town of Barton has been closed until repairs are completed.

Intense rain on Sunday overwhelmed the roadway drainage system causing extensive damage.

Traffic is being detoured from Ellis Creek Road to Oak Hill Road and Crandall Road.

Tioga County officials say it may take up to ten days to repair the damage to the roadway.
