The Tioga Tigers hope for a state championship was dashed by the Geneseo Blue Devils June 13 at Binghamton University.  Geneseo pitcher Blake Phelps fired a no-hitter against Tioga as the Blue Devils rolled to a 10-0 victory in a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C semi-final baseball playoff game.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.  With the win Geneseo advanced to the championship game against the Hoosic Valley Indians also at Binghamton University.  Hoosic Valley won that match-up 5-2.

Other championships were decided at various venues around Broome County.  The Double-A crown went to Mamaroneck in a 9-2 victory over Saratoga Springs at Union-Endicott High School.  The Class A title game was played at Maine-Endwell where Byram Hills edged Queensbury 3-2.

The state Class B championship was played at SUNY Broome.  Mattituck defeated Livonia 4-1 to take home the championship award.  In Class D the winner was decided at Conlon Field in Binghamton.  Smithtown Christian topped Westfield 8-5 to win that championship.

This marked the 13th consecutive year the NYSPHSAA semi-finals and finals have been played in Broome County.
