Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols announced their "Farm to Table" program today featuring a dedication to New York State products and services. It is designed to support local and state agriculture.

A number of guests were at the Casino to talk about the program and what it will mean to area farmers and to the consumer.  Bill French, the Senior Director of Food and Beverage services at Tioga Downs explained the efforts.  Tioga Downs will actively pursue utilizing more products from New York.  He says they use about four million dollars annually in food, supplies and cooking products.  Of that amount he estimates that between 5-10 percent is directly from local or state farms and industry.  Their goal is to double that amount in the near future.

Tioga Downs "Farm to Table" program also includes a New York State craft beer program, a summer Farmer's Market, New York State win promotion, special racing events featuring New York foods and Tioga Downs General Store which opens on Saturday, April 5.
