Tioga County Woman Arrested After Dispute

A 37-year-old woman was sent to Tioga County Jail following a reported domestic incident.

Authorities say Carey Tonkin of Thorn Hollow Road in the town of Tioga was arrested early Monday morning.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, Tonkin was accused of using a hammer to damage property. She also was said to have held the tool in a threatening manner.

Tonkin was charged with menacing, criminal mischief and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Tonkin was arraigned in Tioga town court. She was ordered held on $1,000 bail.
