Remembrances are being held locally to mark the 77th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Owego and Tioga County are remembering the 23-year-old Owego Seaman Delmar Dale Sibley, who is still entombed on the Battleship USS Arizona with 1,117 other sailors and Marines as well as the four deceased survivors at 12:55 p.m. December 7 at the VFW Post 171 in Owego.

N-year-old Army Air Corps Sergeant Charles Bill Kennedy of Owego died this past February. Army Sergeant Richard Hopkins of Berkshire, Army Technical sergeant Donald Stocks of Owego and Marine Lester Dunham of Owego were also stationed at Pearl Harbor that Sunday morning and have since passed away.
