Tioga County Man Faces DWI, Other Counts

A Newark Valley man has been accused of drunken driving while three minors were in the vehicle.

Authorities say 18-year-old Jordan Stevens of Newman Road was charged with felony driving while intoxicated. He also faces three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by Stevens on Route 17C in the town of Tioga.

Deputies say they determined Stevens had been driving while his ability was impaired by drugs.

The passengers in the vehicle were 13, 15 and 16 years old.

Under New York State law, it's an automatic felony to drive while intoxicated or ability impaired by drugs with a person age 15 or younger as a passenger.

Stevens was issued appearance tickets for Tioga town court.
