One suspect has been charged and a second is being sought in connection with an attempt to break into an automatic teller machine at a Visions Federal Credit Union office.

Authorities say 34-year-old Michael Webb of Owego was charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.

Investigators say they are seeking 53-year-old Phyllis Harders of Oswego County in connection with the March 12 incident at the Visions office on Route 38 in Newark Valley.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, an arrest warrant has been issued for Harders. She's expected to be charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Police say two people tried to break into the ATM in the lobby of the Visions office. They caused about $3,000 in damage.

The investigation also uncovered a series of criminal mischief and attempted larcenies at change machines at car washes in Tioga and Broome counties during February and March.

A search of Webb's residence turned up clothing and tools tied to the Visions case. Police also discovered materials associated with a meth lab. In addition to the other counts, Webb was charged of unlawful manufacturing methamphetamine. Harders will face a similar charge.
