Ticket Issued in Richford Crash

Tioga County Sheriff’s officials are releasing more details about a head-on crash July 29 involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer on State Route 38 in Richford.

Authorities say 36 year old Jamie Lynn Darrow of Newark Valley is ticketed for failure to keep right after crossing into the southbound lane and hitting the tractor trailer driven by 36 year old Joshua McKowen of Athens. Pennsylvania.

The crash happened at around 8:44 a.m. and closed Route 38 between Richford and Hartford for several hours.

Authorities say the Tioga County HazMat Team, Guthrie Helecopter, the New York State Department of Transportation and Richford Fire and Emergency Squad were among agencies responding.

The Sheriff’s office reported only minor injuries resulting from the crash.
