A generator operating inside a vacant North Side, Binghamton home is blamed for making several people sick.

Three people were taken by ambulance to the hospital after City fire crews responded to a report of carbon monoxide poisoning in the Pleasant Street home shortly before 10:30 p.m. October 28.

The condition of the two men and a woman is not known.

Fire officials say poor ventilation inside the building caused the CO fumes to build up.

Authorities also have not said why the three were in the house.

New York State Electric and Gas and Binghamton Police worked with the fire department at the scene.
