A Cortland man is accused of driving drunk and without a license after trying to avoid hitting an animal on Route 41 and crashing in Cincinnatus at 12:14 a.m. November 30.

Sheriff’s officials say 22 year old Skyler Kenyon was arrested after he swerved to avoid the animal and his Jeep left the road, hit an earth embankment and overturned, blocking both lanes of travel.

Kenyon and two passengers were taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A portion of Route 41 between Gee Brook road and the Willet Town line was closed for several hours.

Kenyon is charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, Misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and violations of unlicensed operation, no seat belt, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana.
