Three people are in custody, accused of having the materials commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine.

New York State Police say they responded to a report of three people shoplifting at the Dollar General on State Route 12 in Norwich and stopped the vehicle in the nearby WalMart parking lot.

41 year old Steven Sapinsky of New Berlin, 26 year old Sabrina Gray of New Berlin and 30 year old James Bailey of West Edmeston are charged with felony unlawful manufacture of meth and petit larceny.

Troopers say a search of the vehicle turned up Sudafed, starting fluid, ice packs, plastic soda bottles and a digital scale.

All three were sent to the Chenango County Jail with bail set at $20,000.
