Three Die in Chenango County House Fire

Two young children and a woman are dead following a fire in a home in Chenango County.

Authorities say the blaze in the town of Plymouth was reported around 4:50 a.m. Monday.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, one-year-old Benjamin Pfeiffer and 10-year-old Amber Morrow were the children who died as a result of the fire. Investigators say 33-year-old Debbie Pfeiffer also died.

WBNG-TV 12 News reported the fire occurred in a home on German Hollow Road. The station also reported a Plymouth fire department tanker truck overturned on County Route 21 en route to the scene. Two people sustained minor injuries in the crash, which was blamed on icy conditions.

A statement from the sheriff's office indicated autopsies on those who died in the fire are to be performed Tuesday at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.
